Kwanzan Flowering Cherry | Flowering Tree
A lovely additional to any landscape - its stunning bright double pink blooms in April are like a fireworks display!
The Kwanzan Flowering Cherry tree shows off its stunning beauty all year round! It has a beautiful vase shaped growing habit, with symmetrical yet elegant branching. It will catch your eye even in the dead of Winter. In Spring, the bright double pink blooms burst out in a spectacular display covering the tree. With its extraordinary number of bloom clusters, Kwanzan out produces all other cherry blossom trees. The early foliage is bronze and over the Summer it becomes glossy and darker green. In Fall the leaves deepen into a vibrant yellow red. Because it grows so quickly and has nice large dark leaves, Kwanzan is also useful as a single screen tree or near a deck for extra shade. Make sure your Kwanzan has full sun to maximize bloom production and growth. Water heavily twice weekly for 2-3 months after first planting. After your tree is established, you only need to water during extremely dry periods. Kwanzan does show some drought resistance.
