Eastern Redbud is a sturdy deciduous small tree or shrub that is among the first trees to bloom every year. It is famous for its eye-catching rosy pink blooms with a touch of purple. It comes out every spring to early summer. Some of its cultivated variety has white blossoms. It has chestnut brown winterbuds and heart-shaped reddish foliage. Its full-grown leaf are glossy and dark green during Summer, and then turns into yellow during Fall. It also produces edible, rose-colored legumes during Summer. Its maximum height and weight can reach up to 30 feet high and 35 feet wide. It is ideal to have full sun and partial shade to achieve best results. This strikingly beautiful tree has tolerance to cold and adaptable to many kinds of soil. It can be planted even in a smaller yard.
