Leyland Cypress, famously called as leylandii, is an elegant cone-bearing tree that is a crossbreed of Nootka Cypress and Monterey Cypress. It is ideally used for hedging and screening, as well as in windbreaks and Christmas tree orchards. This stunning corniferous tree is compatible with a huge selection of soil and climate types. It has a beautiful dark green to blue green foliage that looks like needles with soft tips. It has a maximum height of 70 feet tall and with a spread of 25 feet wide. It is low maintenance and doesn't need any pruning. If not trimmed, it can have either an oblate or pyramid shape. It grows best in full sun with at least six hours of sunlight and in well-drained soils. To get an optimum result, make sure to water it weekly and ensure the soil's moistness around 3 inches down its soil.
