An eye-catching ornament for your landscape - a pyramid-looking deciduous tree that is exceptionally beautiful during the Fall.

--

Black Gum, popularly called as Black Tupelo, Sour Gum or Tupelo, is an eye-catching deciduous tree that looks magnificent especially during the Fall. It has many slender branches that spreads horizontally, making this beautiful tree to look like a pyramid on its early years and eventually appears like a cone as it ages. During the Summer, it has an extraordinarily shiny and dark green foliage that turns into a wide array of hues of yellow, red, orange and purple during the Fall. As the tree matures, its bark turns into medium gray and would look like the skin of an alligator. During April and May, its flowers will bloom with a greenish-white color. These flowers are the pollinator's major source of nectar. It also bears a fruit that is bluish black in color. Black Gum usually grows up to 50 feet high at maturity, with a width of 30 feet. You can achieve its maximum growth through appropriate watering and fertilization.
